First Images of the Hyundai i20
Hyundai has unveiled the first images of the New Generation i20, ahead of its world debut at the 2014 Paris Motor Show on October 2.
Designed in Europe the new Hyundai i20 is based on a new platform with a 2570mm wheelbase which is some 45mm longer than its predecessor and provides the opportunity to maximize interior cabin space into which has been integrated a range of technology and comfort enhancing features. The Hyundai i20 provides comfortable seating for five adults and has a combined front and rear legroom of some 1892mm.
Another feature of the new Hyundai i20 which also provides vehicle occupants with a sense of space is a panoramic sunroof which is able to both tilt and fully open.
The design of the new Hyundai i20 integrates an upright chrome framed hexagonal grille which has been lowered while a thin horizontal grille connects the front headlamp clusters which incorporates LED daytime running lights while the lower grille houses fog lights. Running the length of the vehicle is a single feature line while the design incorporates undercuts of body panels and waistline moulding at the base of the door while at the rear is a gloss finished black C pillar and lamp clusters which wrap around the rear wing into the boot lid and feature a “boomerang” shaped LED design.
Interior wise the new Hyundai i20 is influenced by Hyundai’s “Fluidic Sculpture 2” design philosophy while the overall design.
