Wonder Woman and the Kia Sportage
Kia Motors America have teamed up with DC Entertainment and Super Street magazine to create a Wonder Woman inspired Kia Sportage and which has been unveiled at the 2013 New York International Auto Show.
The Wonder Woman Kia Sportage Lasso is the latest instalment in an eight vehicle partnership which will see vehicles inspired by the iconic Justice League characters of Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, The Flash, Aquaman and Cyborg.
The alturistic motive behind this partnership is to raise awareness of DC Entertainment’s “We Can Be Heroes” giving campaign which is a relief effort to offer much needed assistance for people affected by the hunger crisis in the Horn of Africa (www.WeCanBeHeroes.org).
The Wonder Woman-inspired Kia Sportage features:
- an aero body kit which offers a streamlined but powerful appearance.
- a red and blue exterior colour scheme, accented with stars, based on Wonder Woman’s iconic outfit,
- while the gold trim wrapped around the vehicle represents Wonder Woman’s weapon of choice, “The Lasso of Truth.”
- a grill incorporating Wonder Woman’s eagle chest-plate emblem and flanked by blue headlight beams
- a windshield banner portraying Wonder Woman’s tiara,
- chrome side panels on the vehicle providing a graphical interpretation of her invisible jet.
- Internally there is red upholstery and dash pieces combined with blue LED lighting, custom seats inspired by Wonder Woman’s signature garb and embroidered with her logo,
- the cargo area is adorned with stars and an eagle and features a see-through panel, which displays Wonder Woman’s tiara, bracelets and glowing Lasso of Truth.
For us at CarHq we love it when car companies, such as Kia, embrace popular culture in their design and wonder how we would look driving around in a Wonder Woman inspired Kia Sportage…..hmmmmmmmm.
