Limited Edition 25th Anniversary Mazda MX5 Arrives In Australia

With only 40 of the 1000 Limited Edition 25th Anniversary Mazda MX5 being allocated to Australian customers, demand was always going to be high.

The Limited Edition 25th Anniversary Mazda MX5 was first unveiled at the New York International Auto Show in April to much fan fare and as a result the car sold out in a matter of minutes when released in USA and Japan.

In Australia official sales started on the 1st August 2014 and even before this 13 of the 40 had already been reserved by local Mazda dealers for their customers. To ensure a fair process Mazda the remaining Limited Edition 25th Anniversary Mazda MX5 will be offered first to those who have  previously registered their interest in the car.  Given the small number of Limited Edition 25th Anniversary Mazda MX5 available in Australia it is considered highly likely that they will also sell out within the day.

Of the 40 Limited Edition 25th Anniversary Mazda MX5’s available in Australia, 24 have a manual transmission and 16 automatic. Purchasers of the the Limited Edition 25th Anniversary Mazda MX5 will also receive a commemorative his and hers Torneau watch set.

The Limited Edition 25th Anniversary Mazda MX5 features a unique 25th anniversary badge with serial number (a must for any collector) and for the first time is available in the soul red metallic paint with black painted A pillars, door mirrors and retractable roof. The interior of the Limited Edition 25th Anniversary Mazda MX5 comprises an off white leather upholstery and door trim, and a black leather arm rest, steering wheel and shift knob (only for the manual variants) all of which are highlighted with red stitching. To top it all off there are red decoration panel and stainless steel scuff plates which incorporate the 25th anniversary logo.

The Limited Edition 25th Anniversary Mazda MX5 celebrates the fact that since its launch in 1989 over 940,000 MX5s have been sold across the globe resulting in the Mazda MX5 being recognised by the Guiness Book of Records as the worlds most popular 2 seat open top sports car.
