Alfa Romeo 4C – The Geneva International Motor Show of 2011 was the venue for the launch of a number of concept cars by the worlds leading manufacturers.

The motor show provided the manufacturers the opportunity to display to the buying public their future aspirations for the brand design. While many of the concept cars will not see the showroom floor, the Alfa Romeo 4C Concept sports car will be available for sale in 2012.

The Alfa Romeo 4c offers a classic two seater coupe design, powered by a direct injection, 1750 turbo petrol, centrally mounted engine delivering 200 horse power, a top speed of 250 kilometres per hour and a 0 to 100 klm/hour accelleration of under 5 seconds.

To maximize performance the Alfa Romeo 4C’s weight has been limited to less than 850kg through the extensive use of carbon in the body and aluminum in the rear frame structure and crash boxes.

The handling of this concept is enhanced by a sophisticated suspension layout comprising high quadrilateral at the front and MacPherson at the rear to ensure maximum agility and road handling.

Through the placement of the centrally mounted engine, the suspension and carbon body, weight distribution is 40/60 front to rear which further maximises the handling.

Overall the Alfa Romeo 4c is much more than a concept car, it will be a reality.
