Mazda has provided a sneak preview of the Mazda Takeri which will be on display at the Tokyo Motor Show from the 3rd December 2011 until the 11th December 2011. As with recent Mazda concept cars, the Kodo (soul of motion) design influence is evident and once again Mazda has developed a concept which appeals to all the senses.

The Mazda Takeri is being marketed as the next generation midsize concept car and as the press photos show Mazda is reinforcing their decision to “push the boundaries of Emotion of Motion”.

The Tokyo Motor Show will also herald the debut of the new CX-5 crossover equipped with Mazda’s Skyactiv Technology components of which are set to become standard across all new Mazda models.

From a visual perspective the Mazda Takeri offers seamless lines with a hint of European styling. The glass roof/rear window design which sweeps graciously towards the rear provides the Takeri with a confident presence and a sense of speed. The flared mud guards and sill styling are evident of the existing design trends of Mazda while the low profile alloy wheels offer that hint of bling.

The grill design, incorporating highlighted metallic features which blend into the headlight assembly gives the Mazda Takeri a large cat like appearance from which speed and agility can be assumed.

Internally with its bucket seats it is evident that the designers wanted the occupants to feel as one with the Mazda Takeri with seats which wrap around and encase you.

The Mazda Takeri continues to represent Mazda’s design focus and is another example of Mazda throwing down the challenge to its competitors.
