The, rear wheel drive, Kia Quoris is seen by Kia as its flagship sedan and as such incorporates a variety of high tech comfort and safety features including:

  •  Advanced Smart Cruise Control(ASCC) – Radar based the ASCC is located on the right side of the front bumper and has the ability to monitor the road ahead upto a distance of 174 metres. ASCC assists the driver in maintaining a safe pre-determined distance from the vehicle ahead as well as automatically stopping the vehicle, if necessary.

  • Advanced Vehicle Safety Management (AVSM) – The AVSM links many of the safety features of the Kia together including the Electronic Stability Control,, seat belt mechanisms and multiple warning systems. Through the AVSM the driver can be alerted, in three distinct stages, of a potential hazard while the braking system can pre-pressurize and the pre-safe belt system activated.

  • Blind Sport Detection (BSD) – Is activated at speeds above 30 km/hour and provides the driver with a warning when a vehicle comes into a blind spot zone.
  • Around View Monitor (AVM) – Provides the driver with a virtual “top” view of the vehicle in relation to surroundings. This system automatically deactivates at speeds above 20 km/hour.

The safety features of the Kia Quoris are impressive and is further example of the significant development, over recent years, in the area of vehicle safety and the fact that such technology should now be seen as a necessity rather than a luxury.

The Kia Quoris styling is reminiscent of the high end marques with European curves and treatments from nose to tail, the sweeping roof design  coupled with the low profile tail light assembly, ntegrated roof antenna and dual exhaust provides the Quoris with the desired fast but sophisticated look. However, when looking at the Kia Quoris front on we at CarHq are still unsure as to whether or not we like the front grill which bares a striking resemblence to someone we used to know.

The Kia Quoris is another example of marques such as Kia bringing safety features and styling, previously only seen on top end makes, to the masses. Only time will tell if the Kia Quoris will make it to Australia.
